The Leeming Spartan Cricket Club was delighted today to host the Western Australian Premier, the Honorable Mark McGowan at our clubhouse for what proved to be one of the most memorable and impressive occasions in our history.

It was certainly a sensational way to ramp up our one-hundredth anniversary celebrations and for the more than fifty attendees, it proved to be a fantastic and laid back encounter with our premier.

A supremely successful morning saw a number of important questions asked and answered, and most impressively, the audience was treated to an intimate and personal encounter with Mr. McGowan.

Unlike many of his engagements in the public arena, this event was only ever achievable at the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club because of its casual nature, allowing the Premier to deeply engage with the audience.

Attended by many dignitaries, including the Mayor of the City of Melville Russell Aubrey, the Federal Member for Tangney Ben Morton, doctors from Fiona Stanley Hospital, the feedback was unanimously positive, and the response was incredible.

Amazingly, our personal representatives from all three levels of government were present (excluding both the Premier and Mayor Aubrey), from the Leeming Ward of the City of Melville, Mr. Clive Robartson, the state member for Jandakot the Honorable Yaz Mubarakai, and our federal member Ben Morton.

The event was absolutely sensational, and the turn out was amazing. An enormous thank you to all Spartans who attended, and of course the Premier and Yaz for their incredible assistance and support this morning.

The Spartans are stronger than ever in year one-hundred, and the support shown by our community leaders is nothing short of amazing.

An incredible day indeed.
