The Leeming Spartan Cricket Club is hugely excited to announce our Club Captains for the 2020/21 season, and with nine sides at our disposal, we are already in the throes of enjoying an enormous summer of cricket!
An enormous congratulations to our Club Captains for 2020/21 – many of whom are returning from the year prior. We have also had a restructure in terms of our third two-day side, which this season will participate in one-day cricket, and we welcome their renewed enthusiasm and energy ahead of the first game on October 31st.
As previously announced, our Club Captains for First Grade remain unchanged, with Paul Kalleske and his Vice Captain Ben Harris to again lead the Club on the field as we look to get a three-peat of First Grade Premierships for the first time in our 102-year history.
The full list of Leeming Spartan Cricket Club Captains are listed below, so be sure to check them out. Congratulations to all and thank you for being part of the Spartan Army in this incredible year.
Initially we went into the 2020/21 Season with seven sides (the same as the year prior), however an incredible turnout and increased participation sees the Spartans have a whopping nine teams playing each week!
Nine Spartan sides and 99 players on the park each week – the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club is stronger than ever and ready for a huge 2020/21 season!
This is an incredible number that is so pleasing to see! Perhaps even more impressively and crucial to the Leeming Spartan Cricket Club in the years ahead is the fact that we have a large number of juniors (from the Leeming Spartan Junior Cricket Club) and their fathers playing each week for the Club. This is a tremendous achievement and is such a fantastic outcome for the Club as we look to ingratiate our newest Spartans into the senior club.
A very special thank you must go to our President and Chairman of Selectors Peter Coombs in organising these sides each week.
We are now two rounds in and the sides are all extremely competitive and we are already seeing some amazing performances! Be sure to stay tuned for more. In the meantime though, check out the Spartan captains below!
